Tigecycline is a broad spectrum glycylcycline antibiotic. Tigecycline is bacteriostatic. It inhibits protein synthesis throμgh the binding of the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria. This blocks entry of Aminoacyl-tRNA into the A site of the ribosome during translation.
