It is involved in the synthesis of vinyl and acryalte modified silica nanoparticles by using vinyltrimethoxysilane. Further, it is used as a silane coupling agent involved in the modification of fluorescein isothiocyanate-mesoporous silica nanoparticles with carbon-carbon double bonds.
