Methyl palmitate acts as a vasodilator and relaits arterioles in the retina during electrical depolarization. In the upper cervical ganglion, methyl palmitate regulates nicotinic receptors. Endogenous methyl palmitate modulates nicotine-receptor mediated signaling in the upper cervical ganglion. PAME activates the Kv7 channel and promotes perivascular adipose tissue. Application： Using laser Doppler flowmeter (LDF) experiments, researchers have tested the effects of methyl palmitate on cerebral blood flow and used it as a standard to determine the retention index (RI) of a gas chromatography-mass spectrometer.
