凡诺西林是一种N-烷基哌嗪，由哌嗪在1和4位分别带有2-[双(4-氟苯基)甲氧基]乙基和3-苯丙基基团。多巴胺摄取的强效竞争性抑制剂(Ki = 1 nM，抑制纹状体多巴胺摄取)。对去甲肾上腺素和5-HT摄取载体的亲和力低100倍以上。也是强效σ配体(IC50 = 48 nM)。全身给药后具有中枢活性。它具有多巴胺摄取抑制剂的作用。它是一种醚、有机氟化合物、N-烷基哌嗪和三级胺化合物。它是凡诺西林(2+)的共轭碱。
