(+)-α-蒎烯是一种单萜，是生物动力燃料的前体。它会发生臭氧分解，产生二次有机气溶胶（SOA）物质。用途 (+)-α-蒎烯可用于：制备手性有机硼烷，用于合成光学活性化合物和Suzuki偶联。作为芳醛的烯丙基化反应的催化剂，用于合成手性吡啶型N-氧化物。合成2,3-蒎烷二胺，是多种催化剂和试剂的手性助剂。(+)-α-蒎烯已被用于耐性试验中，以检测Marinobacter aquaeolei的基因，用于一种耐受蒎烯的大肠杆菌的工程化。
