Directly influences neuroblastoma progression by promoting the proliferation and migration of neuroblastoma cells. Positively regulates PTGS2 expression and prostaglandin synthesis. May play a role in placentation. May play a role in normal and pathological testis angiogenesis. Endocrine gland-derived vascular endothelial growth factor (EG-VEGF), also called prokineticin 1 (PK1), is a member of the prokineticin family of secreted proteins that share a common structural motif containing ten conserved cysteine residues that form five pairs of disulfide bonds.

Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using bovine EJG cells is less than 2.0 μg/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 500 IU/mg.
