生化机理

血管生成、血管生成和内皮细胞生长过程中的活跃生长因子。诱导内皮细胞增殖、促进细胞迁移、抑制细胞凋亡并诱导血管通透。与 FLT1/VEGFR1 和 KDR/VEGFR2 受体、硫酸肝素和肝素结合。NRP1/Neuropilin-1 与 VEGF-165 和 VEGF-145 异构体结合。异构体 VEGF165B 可与 KDR 结合，但不会激活下游信号通路，不会激活血管生成并抑制肿瘤生长。

生物活性

Measured in a cell proliferation assay using HUVEC human umbilical vein endothelial cells. The ED50 for this effect is 1.50-12.0 ng/mL. The specific activity of recombinant human VEGF165 is > 8.0 x 10^5 units/mg, which is calibrated against the human VEGF165 WHO standard (NIBSC code: 02/286).
