How to wash polyester? Polyester and polyester fibers
The characteristics of polyester:
1. High strength.
The short fiber strength is 2.6~ 5.7cN/dtex, and the high strength fiber is 5.6~ 8.0cN/dtex. Due to its low moisture absorption, its wet strength is basically the same as the dry strength. The impact strength is 4 times higher than that of nylon and 20 times higher than that of viscose fiber.
2. Good elasticity.
The elasticity is close to that of wool, and when the elongation is 5% to 6%, it can be almost completely restored. The wrinkle resistance exceeds that of other fibers, that is, the fabric does not wrinkle and has good dimensional stability. Polyester fabrics have high strength and elastic recovery ability, so they are firm and durable, anti-wrinkle and non-scalding.
3. The polyester surface is smooth.
The internal molecules are closely arranged. Polyester is the fabric with the best heat resistance among synthetic fiber fabrics. It has thermoplasticity and can be made into pleated skirts with long-lasting pleats. At the same time, polyester fabrics have poor melt resistance and are prone to forming holes in case of soot, sparks, etc. Therefore, try to avoid contact with cigarette butts, sparks, etc. when wearing.
4. Heat resistance.
Polyester is made by melt spinning, and the formed fiber can be heated and melted again, which belongs to thermoplastic fiber. Polyester has a relatively high melting point, and its specific heat capacity and thermal conductivity are small, so the heat resistance and insulation of polyester fiber are higher. It is the best among synthetic fibers.
5. Good light resistance.
Light resistance is second only to acrylic. Polyester fabrics have better light resistance. In addition to being worse than acrylic, their sun resistance is better than natural fiber fabrics. Especially behind glass, the sun resistance is very good, almost on par with acrylic.
6. Good wear resistance.
The wear resistance is second only to nylon, which has the best wear resistance, and is better than other natural and synthetic fibers.
The difference between polyester and polyester fibers
Many people think that polyester and polyester fiber are two different things, but in fact they both refer to the same raw material. Polyester fiber is a universal title in the world, mainly because of the earliest production name, and now it has become a universal title in the world; polyester is a Chinese title, and polyester fiber in China is generally polyester.
The basic constituent of polyester is polyethylene terephthalate, with the molecular formula [-OC-Ph-COOCH2CH2O-] n, so it is also called polyester fiber (PET). The chemical structure formula of its long chain molecule is H (OCH2CCOCO) NOCH2CH2OH, and the relative molecular weight is generally around 18,000 to 25,000. In fact, there are also a small amount of monomers and oligomers in it. These oligomers have a low degree of polymerization and exist in a cyclic form. Polyethylene terephthalate can be prepared by direct esterification of terephthalic acid (PTA) and ethylene glycol (EG) to ethylene terephthalate (9BHET) and then condensed.
From the point of view of the molecular composition of polyester, it is composed of short aliphatic hydrocarbon chain, ester group, benzene ring, and alcohol-terminated hydroxyl group. In addition to the presence of two alcohol-terminated hydroxyl groups in the polyester seed, there are no other polar groups, so the hydrophilicity of the polyester fiber is extremely poor. The polyester molecule contains about 46% ester groups, which can undergo hydrolysis and thermal cracking at high temperatures, and saponolysis in case of alkali, which reduces the degree of polymerization; the polyester molecule also contains aliphatic hydrocarbon chains, which can make the polyester molecule have certain flexibility, but because there are benzene rings in the polyester molecule that cannot be rotated internally, the polyester macromolecule is basically a rigid molecule, and the molecular chain is easy to maintain the linear shape. Therefore, the polyester macromolecule is easy to form crystals under this condition, so the crystallinity and orientation of the polyester are high.
Polyester shirt washing should pay attention to the following points:
1. Use a variety of washing powders and soaps to wash shirts.
2. When washing polyester shirts, the temperature should be below 45 degrees Celsius.
3. Polyester shirts can be machine washed, hand washed, dry cleaned, and dried.
4. Polyester shirts can be washed with a brush. Be careful not to brush too hard, which will cause the clothes to be overstretched and cause an unrecoverable state.
5. It is easy to dry in the shade after washing, and should not be exposed to the sun to avoid wrinkling due to heat;
6. When ironing, a damp cloth should be added, and the temperature should not be too high. It is best to iron the reverse side of dark clothing.
