Mold and Yeast Color Medium
Part Number: VIP (HB) 7010-1
Specifications: 1000ml
Purpose: Used for the color development culture of molds and yeasts; mold and yeast color development medium According to the enzyme substrate method, different molds and yeasts are distinguished by color development. After 3-5 days of culture at 25-28 ° C, Candida albicans appear blue-green, and Candida tropical appears blue-green and smoothCandidaIt was blue-green, Candida crusadensis was blue-green, Saccharomyces cerevisiae was blue-green, mold was cotton-like blue-green colonies, and bacteria were suppressed.
Mold and Yeast Color MediumComposition (g/L)
usage
Weigh 9.5g of this product (can be expanded or reduced according to the ratio of 4.75g/100ml), add 200ml of distilled water or purified water, heat to dissolve and keep stirring, boil for no more than 1 minute. Cool the heated media water bath to 45-50 ° C, shake gently, pour into a sterile flat dish (9cm 15ml/dish, 7cm 10ml/dish), after the agar is completely solidified, place it upside down in an incubator at 36 ° C for 0.5-1 hours, set aside.
Operation steps
1. Prepare the sample solution according to national standards, SN standards, FDA standards or other methods.
2. Take the sample solution and apply it or scribe it and inoculate it on the plate;
3. Cultured at 25-28 ° C for 3-5 days, Candida albicans were blue-green, Candida glabrata was blue-green, Candida glabrata was blue-green, Candida krone was blue-green, Saccharomyces cerevisiae was blue-green, mold was cotton-like blue-green colonies, and bacteria were inhibited.
4. Suspected Candida albicans colonies can be inoculated on PDA agar plates by scribing, cultured at 25-28 ° C for 24-48 hours, and single colonies can be selected for microscopic inspection and biochemical tests.
Quality Control
1. Appearance
The powder of this drying medium is uniform, has good fluidity, and is milky white. The prepared plate was a transparent colorless solid medium.
2. Microbial testing
Incubate at 25-30 ° C for 3-5 days:
Limitations of the method
This medium identifies molds and yeasts. In rare cases, false positives or false negatives may occur, and additional tests are required.
typical features
Candida albicans are typically blue-green, Candida tropical is blue-green, Candida smooth is blue-green, Candida krone is blue-green, Saccharomyces cerevisiae is blue-green, mold is cottonlike blue-green colonies, bacteria were suppressed.
storage
The prepared plate should be used immediately, and direct light exposure should be avoided. The dry powder medium should be placed in a dark and dry place at a storage temperature of 2-8 ° C, and should be stored away from light.
failure
Dry media should not be used beyond shelf life, clumping, or color changes.
Attention
This medium is for laboratory use only.
