(–)-Cryptopleurine 是一种存在于樟科植物中的生物碱，具有多种生物活性。它可抑制人类 A375 黑色素瘤、A431 表皮样癌、A549 肺癌、MES-SA 子宫肉瘤和 MCF-7 乳腺癌细胞的生长（所有细胞的IC50=3 nM）。(–)-Cryptopleurine 可在缺氧反应元件 (HRE) 报告基因检测中抑制缺氧诱导的基因表达（IC50=8.7 nM）。(–)-Cryptopleurine (500 μg/ml) 可防止感染烟草花叶病毒 (TMV) 的烟草 (N. tabacum) 植物形成病变。它还可抑制酵母和哺乳动物核糖体的蛋白质合成。
