8-Chloro-cAMP is a cAMP analogue that induces growth arrest, and modulates cAMP-dependent PKA activity. 8-Chloro-cAMP has anticancer activity. In Vitro 8-Chloro-cAMP markedly inhibits vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) proliferation in vitro, reduces protein kinase A (PKA) RIα subunit expression, and induces PKA RIIβ subunit expression.
