Known as an anthracycline antibiotic displaying cytotoxic and growth inhibitory ability against Gram-positive multi drug strains including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Shown in experiments to have potent antitumor activity against multiple cancer cell lines.
